The leader of the MDCL ranglist – Dante, got Real Madrid but this didn’t stop Gunner from beating him 3:1 in the group stage, leading group A with the maximum of 9 points.

The other MD Games players – Beast (Milan) and denZ (Brazil), also advanced to the playoff phase topping group C. MDG.Beast took 9 points with 13:0 goal difference, and MDG.denZ took 6 points with goal difference of 13:3.

MDG.Gunner remained unbeated until the very end of the tournament. He faced Dante on the final and won the best of three by 2:1 (0:1, 2:1, 3:1). Gunner’s prize was Logitech G930 Wireless 7.1 Gaming Headset and 3 points in the MDCL ranglist. After MDCL 5 this ranglist’s top looks like this:

1. Dante – 9 pts
2. eFc.Etien – 6 pts
3. MDG.Gunner – 3 pts

Alexander “Joe” Milanov: “I had two hard weeks and during that time I couldn’t practise so I definitely wasn’t prepared enough for the match. Fortunately, I somehow managed to play on a high level and won. All the games were interesting and, to be honest, Addicted played really well. I almost underestimated him but he proved that he’s a good player.”

Alexander’s next match is against his former team mate – TMC.Splendour. Joe and Splendour have played many games against each other – at tournaments and for training. Some of the most interesting matches between them were at the biggest Bulgarian SC2 LANs such as Razer KoTH and Mania Challenge.

Our second representative in PsiStorm League – MDG.Los7, will play tomorrow (on Sunday) versus the player with real identity yet unknown – Shokan.

MDG’s great performance during the first SC2CL season earned them a slot in Division 1 for the next season. The battle starts this Sunday. Teams are divided into 10 Divisions with approximately 12 teams each.

Division 1 is the most prestigious place in the SC2CL. All the teams there already proved their skills. We see names like incredible Panic from Belarus, the Dutch Serious Gaming, Team Wizards, nEophyte, and more. Surely the fans are up to some awesome matches.

The first round match of MD Games is against incredible Panic. Last time these teams colided was in a big money qualifier when MDG pulled a win by 3:2. A big share in this success had the MDG star player – Joe, who took a clear 2:0 win versus iP.Unix.

Every match will be streamed and viewed by thousands. There’s a bet system and betting on a future winner will bring you points.  The league is bracket-based. Our first matches are MDG.Joe -vs- DooM.Addicted and MDG.Los7 -vs- Shokan.

Joe is undoubtedly the favourite in his match. Our player currently has a bet coefficient of 1.85 against 8.7. His own prediction is a 3:1 victory. Start map is Typhon Peaks. The match will be played on Thursday.

Los7 is playing versus the mysterious Shokan, whose replay pack from the qualifier is available here. There’s a bonus of 500 bet points for the first who manage to reveal Shokan’s real identity. Rumours exist that the mystery man is the well-known Bulgarian RTS gamer Shocker. The match will be played this Sunday, bets are not yet available.

What were the bans?

We banned Cho’gath, Sion and Shen, and OGB banned Nunu, Zilean and Renekton.

What about picks?

We had Amumu, Urgot, Kassadin, Irelia and Soraka. OGODBEARS got Karthus, Singed, Taric, Nocturne and Corki.

What happened ingame?

Well, we lost. Our strategy was to adapt to the US style of play and try to apply it on the battlefield. This style is passive and involves more farming, less action. It’s really strange to players like me who love intense play, the so-called fraghunters. In short, we farmed, and farmed, and farmed, and then we lost because they started killing us.

Why didn’t you surprise them instead of playing on their rules?

That was a team decision. We tried to be more defensive and secure. It started well but at one point things went wrong.

Why did you lose? Was OGB really the better team?

They were the better team, indeed. But that’s because we let them be that. We made many mistakes in our team game. MDG has really good individuals. I believe we are among the top LoL players individually. But this is a team game. Everyone played well on his lane but as a team we just couldn’t cope with each other. In my opinion OGB was not as good as we expected. We were capable of winning but the problems in our teamplay decided the end result.

What now? Any plans?

Yes. We’re gonna try to fix the problems by more practising together and more discussing. In Bulgaria we are dominating but if we want to achieve something big on the international scene, we need to be a better team. MDG is always ready for new challenges and the next Go4LoL cup is one of them.

Topping her group in the groupstage, Denitsa showed she’s in a great form once again. The 4th place now is her second big achievement in Pro Evolution Soccer after scoring 2nd place online at ESL BG PES Challenge in the end of March.

The ex-MDG player – EFC.Etien, was definitely the best PES-er of the day. He had to beat his team mate and reigning PES MGC champion – EFC.Bobby. The match was dramatic but goalless as well. Etien managed to score a goal that brought him the victory and the money.

To sum it up, today Team EFC managed to prevail in the epic PES battle between them and MD Games PES but, as people love to say, the battle may be lost but the war is not over!

The last qualifying round of ESL Major Series VIII has already begun. This Saturday MD Games LoL meets OGODBEARS in a match streamed by the ESL. The stakes are high – a slot in the EMS Main Round and a chance to win a share from the 5000 euro prize pool!

The match is scheduled to Saturday, 22:00 CET/16:00 EST/13:00 PST. The ESL TV has provided a comentator – Phreak. For those of you who don’t know this person, here’s a video of the final US WCG qualifier, commentated live by him: VIDEO.

We asked the MD Games LoL player halpmylegs about his expectations:

Martin “halpmylegs” Yotinski: “I’ve played in the US servers for almost a year and I can tell that the skill level there is higher. The problem is that there’s not much competition because team cLG are just winning against everyone, in my opinion they cannot be defeated at the moment and are way beyond all of the teams in US and EU. I expect our match against OGODBEARS to be really difficult but if we play our game and use every opponent’s weakness, we have a decent chance to win and qualify!”

The League of Legends division of MD Games managed to win the first Battle for Bulgaria qualifier and secured a spot in the final tournament which will be next month. Once again our players stepped on the top of the Bulgarian LoL gaming scene. Their path to the victory was fluent until the last match where they defeated Fv-GaminG.

Eight teams will participate in the grand final with 4 of them sharing the prize pool, which is provided by Riot Games. The first half of the finalists are already clear – MD Games LoL, Fv GaminG, HEADSHOTBG, n00bs. The second part will be announced next week after Qualifier 2.

The prize distribution for the final is:

1st place: 5 x $15 RP + 5 x Triumphant Ryze + 5 x Champion Skin Bundle

2nd place: 5 x $15 RP

3rd place: 5 x $10 RP

4th place: 5 x $5 RP

Ivan Zlatanov (MDG.ha6i6a) is very confident about the team’s performance. Here’s what he said about his expectations for the final:

“I expect to see a good tournament, pretty much balanced but marked with the domination of MD Games LoL and Fv GaminG. I think we’ll meet in the grand final and I’m confident MDG will win!”
